Pharmasurgics has received approval from the Swedish Medical Products Agency to begin a Phase II clinical trial which will monitor the safety and efficacy of PharmaSurgics’ novel candidate drug for the prevention of post-surgical adhesions in patients undergoing hand surgery.

The judges at the Academic Enterprise Awards Europe were highly impressed by the way an innovation had been developed and realized through the CSE spin-out company Lamera and announced them the winner in the Materials/Chemistry section.

Five of the ten awarded business ideas in Venture Cup Väst are being developed at Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship (CSE) and its sister education at Göteborg International Bioscience Business School (GIBBS) together with Encubator.

CSE alumni company Minesto was featured in Ny Teknik October 22nd and Dagens Nyheter October 26th. In the articles they reveal technical features of their innovation Deep Green. The kite-like construction is now about to be tested outside the coast of Northern Ireland in 2011. CSE alumni company Denator has completed their fourth round of financing, raising a total of 15 million SEK. The financing has been subscribed by a strong group of investors that include the existing investors T-bolaget AB, Wikow Ventures AB & Servisen Holding AB as well as existing private shareholders but also new financial investors such as the SGP Group (Svenska Garantiprodukter AB). The proceeds, which are expected to be sufficient to reach positive cash flow, will be used to continue building Denator’s position in the global protein research market. The funds will be used to further develop the company’s product line and research activities, and to expand its sales and marketing activities.

CleanSense (CSE'09) has received 2 MSEK from Vinnova in the program "Vinn Verifiering". CleanSense develops research instruments for the nanotechnology industry. Read more about the grant and CleanSense at http://www.cleansense.se.

Eleven educations in entrepreneurship at Swedish universities have competed for getting additional funding from the government to become absolute world class educations. Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg came out as number one.

Layerlab (CSE'02) and Minesto (CSE'06) have received SEK 470 000 and SEK 406 000 respectively from the VINNOVA program "Forska&Väx".
