Minesto, a company created at Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship in 2006, is an example of how the entrepreneurial students at our education contribute to the creation of a sustainable future by being the driving force behind innovations. Being a company focusing on sustainable and renewable energy sources, Minesto has been asked to present at the Chalmers Day for a Sustainable Future to highlight some of the results of our efforts to create a sustainable future.
The technology behind Minesto is called Deep Green – a tidal energy device that converts energy from tidal stream flows into electricity. Originally developed at SAAB Aero, this revolutionary idea was presented to a group of students at our technology venture creation track in 2005. The combination of a great idea and young entrepreneurial capacity soon proved to a recipe for success once again. The company has grown rapidly the last years and continue to do so - Currently they are looking for six new people to hire.
